- ➤ Former firefighter Alan, who became disabled after a work injury, hopes to walk again and play soccer with his son this holiday season. Operation Holiday, now in its 35th year, has partnered with 21 local agencies to help 199 families and 403 children receive food and gifts. Reading Eagle
