  • Wyomissing Public Library will receive a Rotary Peace Pole as part of the Rotary District 7430 Youth Exchange program (to be dedicated by exchange students in 2026) that displays 'May Peace Prevail on Earth' in eight languages on Reading Boulevard.  Reading Eagle
  • Former firefighter Alan, who became disabled after a work injury, hopes to walk again and play soccer with his son this holiday season. Operation Holiday, now in its 35th year, has partnered with 21 local agencies to help 199 families and 403 children receive food and gifts.  Reading Eagle

  • Lisa Eshleman Murray from Fleetwood hangs nearly 1,000 unique Christmas ornaments from the ceiling when her tree overflows; her display includes vintage pieces (like her father’s rattle from 1929) and hand-blown glass treasures as part of her yearly tradition.  Reading Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williams Valley Elementary School (3rd graders) sent festive letters to Santa listing Christmas wishes for toys, tech, and sports equipment. The tradition brings local community cheer as kids share their holiday dreams.  Reading Eagle

  • On Christmas Eve, last-minute shoppers in West Reading are picking up final gifts despite forecasts of heavy snow, sleet, and ice that may disrupt Friday commutes & weekend travel. SPORTS NEWS

  • Six Berks players — including five from Twin Valley — were named to the 2025 Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class 4A All-State Team, announced Wednesday. The roster features senior running back Drew Engle and junior linebacker Lucas Myers, among others, spotlighting local high school football talent.  Reading Eagle
  • Wilson high school has two players named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class 6A All-State Team announced Wednesday. Jaiden Carpenter (senior) played as a defensive back while Michael Glover (junior) was the only tight end selected.  Reading Eagle
