- ➤ Barrio Alegria is hosting its annual My Mother’s Refrigerator holiday market at the WCR Center for the Arts on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Local artists will showcase their work plus vendors keep 100% of their profits while attendees enjoy free admission and on-street parking. - ➤ On Sunday, Douglassville Veterinary Hospital held its first feral cat spay/neuter clinic in honor of Caitlin Nazaryk—a pet lover who died of an overdose—and spayed 25 cats while raising funds for low-income families’ pet care. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Amber, a single mother who has been out of work after a leg sprain, said she is grateful for Operation Holiday's help today. The long-running program (35 years) partners with 21 local agencies to provide gifts and food for 403 children. Reading Eagle

- ➤ On Sunday around 3:00 p.m., a kitchen fire in a Berks County building on the 100 block of North 5th Street escalated to a two-alarm emergency, displacing residents (three apartments) and sending one person to the hospital while firefighters cleared the scene by 5:30 p.m. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ On Saturday, Dec. 6, Kutztown beat Frostburg State 51–29 at Andre Reed Stadium in the Super Region One quarterfinals, keeping the Golden Bears’ record perfect at 14–0.
