- ➤ The Camel Project will host a free forum called Power in Unity: Accountability to Our Community on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. at the Boscov Theater at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. Representatives from Bethany Children’s Home, Green Building Alliance and The Camel Project will share their efforts to reduce youth violence and honor lost local youth — the event will conclude with an open dialogue session for community input. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Filmmaker Ann Goodman made a new documentary that tells the story of James Murphy—known locally as Stoneman Willie—whose preserved body remained at a funeral home for over a century. The sold-out film premiere took place Friday night at GoggleWorks Boscov Theater and she partnered with 69 News’ Tom Rader to shape the project. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ Today, Reading City Hall glows purple to support the Reading Royals home opener. On Tuesday, it will shine green to honor Veterans Day (City Hall will be closed and street sweeping paused). WFMZ-TV
- ➤ The Reading Planning Commission approved a plan that will convert the former Albright College dormitory on North 13th into 38 apartments—this redevelopment includes fencing, landscaping, stormwater improvements and other code-required infrastructure updates that the applicant must resolve. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Berks County ultramarathoner Brendan Morgan of Shillington starts his 341-mile run today from just south of Pittsburgh and plans to run about 60 miles a day until he reaches the Washington Crossing Bridge by next Thursday—he is raising funds and awareness for mental health with a live GPS tracker. - ➤ Tower Health announced major cuts on Friday—laying off 350 workers, including 131 at Pottstown Hospital, and closing key departments such as intensive care and the cancer infusion center due to rising expenses. Nurses said the sudden changes may force patients to travel further for care. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Reading Hospital kicked off No Shave November last Thursday at Building 24 to support men's initiatives at the McGlinn Cancer Institute as administration officials served signature cocktails, and the campaign aims to raise $100,000 with a beard contest at month’s end. WFMZ-TV
