  • McCarthy Engineering named Mehdi Mehrabi as its new MEP division manager—he led the full use of Autodesk Revit for better design work. Meanwhile, Penn State Berks professor Michael Fidanza will serve a one-year term as president of the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, Saxton & Stump’s Ryan C.   • Reading Public Museum will host a Halloween event with trick-or-treat and crafts — it will offer families seasonal fun and creative activities — on October 31.  WFMZ-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Learning Center in Wyomissing held its grand opening Fall Fest to celebrate Halloween and its summer opening, drawing local families amid a growing Berks County—owner Gwen Cromer said the center offers services for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. This event highlights the center's commitment to supporting local families as the area expands.  WFMZ-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wyomissing won 46-7 over Lampeter-Strasburg on Friday—rushing for 475 yards and earning a playoff bye as the Spartans finished 9-1. Exeter beat Elizabethtown 42-7, Conestoga Valley defeated Muhlenberg 45-24, Lancaster Catholic edged Schuylkill Valley 17-16, and Reading ended its season 1-9.  Reading Eagle
  • Wilson senior Jin Lin Chen was voted the BCIAA girls tennis Player of the Year—she won all three of her matches without dropping a set, announced Saturday. Wilson coach Todd Gensemer was named Coach of the Year—eight other players joined the All-Conference team.  Reading Eagle
