- ➤ After more than five decades, the Bar-B-Q Pit restaurant in Sinking Springs closed its doors—its owners plan to build new apartments while preserving a legacy of Greek culture blended with American flavors in the community. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Reading District Libraries partnered with Berks Nature to offer Nature Stroll and Roll at Berks Nature, 575 St. Bernardine St., on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. The event is designed for all abilities — welcoming walkers, wheelchair users and those who use canes or walkers — with guided strolls and nature-themed activities planned for a safe outdoor experience. - ➤ Reading's new documentary on Stoneman Willie will premiere next month—he died over 100 years ago and his mummified body stayed at the Auman Funeral Home for decades. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ The Longswamp Township Historical Society will hold a grand opening on Oct. 19 with a reception from 1 to 2 p.m. and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open its new museum and library building at the Longswamp Township Community Park—marking 13 years of work and the preservation of over 2,000 local artifacts. - ➤ Teamsters and Representative DeLuzio rallied today at the community health care facility to oppose an alleged illegal threat to close it—health care workers united in protest. Protesters demanded that the clinic remain open to safeguard local patient care. WFMZ-TV
