- ➤ Hope Rescue Mission held its annual Hope Gala Saturday night in Reading as community leaders—partners and friends gathered to celebrate a year of service and raise funds for its programs. The event will support future initiatives including a November 5k to benefit homeless veteran services. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ North Star Initiative hosted a walk on Saturday in Berks County to raise awareness about human trafficking and empower survivors—drawing about 60 community members. CEO Melinda Clark said the group wants to end trafficking by urging neighbors to stand together against this ongoing issue. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ A pop-up farmers market debuted in Berks County on Saturday—organized by the Berks County Heritage Center and the Department of Agriculture to revive Heritage Day and support local farmers. Organizers also introduced a food map listing over 260 sites to help residents shop locally. WFMZ-TV
