- ➤ Reading nonprofit The Camel Project will host ChalkPalooza Kutztown on Sept. 6 at Renninger’s Antique & Farmers’ Market—a free event with sidewalk chalk art, bubble play stations, a color run and car show that supports its mission to stop bullying. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and welcomes families and car enthusiasts for a day of fun and art. Reading Eagle

- ➤ Today, Ed Martel of Jonestown Bank & Trust Co was named 2025 Banker of the Year at the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Inspire Awards, where he was honored for his work in community banking. Dermatology Partners hired Michele Parkhill and Joseph Stultz and promoted Andrew Vail, Saxton & Stump welcomed former federal prosecutor Timothy M. - ➤ The Miller Center for the Arts in Reading announces its 2025 season, a mix of music, theater, and comedy events that will include Nancy Norton’s Nurse’s Night Out on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. (honoring 50 years of nursing at RACC) and concerts with diverse acts running through Dec. 13 and into early next year. - ➤ Reading Public Museum will host the 112th annual exhibition of the Allied Artists of America from Sept 13 through Jan 11, featuring top works by modern American artists—oil paintings, sculptures, and mix-media pieces—and awarding more than $45,000 in cash prizes. Reading Eagle
- ➤ The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles hosted its 59th Annual Duryea Day Car Show on Saturday where over 700 vehicles were displayed to raise funds for the museum's collection. The show also featured 15 horseless carriages dating back over a century—highlighting a rich history of automobiles. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, the 21st annual Taste of Hamburg-er Festival drew thousands of burger fans to try creative burgers like Luther Burgers and compete in the Dine and Dash Burger Trails Race—where Bernville's Nick Sokolovich combined eating with running. Local festival-goers, including Taunya and Kelly Arnold, sampled a variety of burger creations and planned their route for the day before leaving around 1 p.m. Reading Eagle

- ➤ On Saturday, Wyomissing beat Haverford School 29 to 26 at Bob Wolfrum Field—using a strong running game and key passes to secure the win. The Spartans showed they can compete with top teams and will build on this success in future contests. Reading Eagle
- ➤ Friday night high school football games saw Muhlenberg beat Reading High 48-0 as Cameron Small rushed for 210 yards and scored five touchdowns—other teams like Kutztown, Twin Valley, and Hamburg also won their non-league contests.
