- ➤ RiverFest 2025 is on day two at Jim Dietrich Park in Muhlenberg Twp as thousands enjoy food trucks serving loaded tater tots, live music, drinks, and local vendors. Organizers expect over 25,000 people to attend by the end of today — the final farewell to summer before school resumes. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ Kutztown University’s KU Presents! series — led by new director Dr. Deborah Justice — will begin in October with a Mariachi performance by Herencia de Mexico and continue with acts like Voctave, Lunasa and Broadway star Jessica Vosk, promising a season of diverse shows. Reading Eagle
- ➤ On Aug. 23rd, the Pennsylvania German Farm Festival brought visitors to the historic Dreibelbis Farm near Virginville to celebrate Pennsylvania German heritage with live demonstrations, farmhouse tours, and Lenape artifact displays + local volunteers preserved a nearly 250-year family legacy. - ➤ Brandywine Heights Area School District is hosting a public celebration for its new multipurpose stadium at 103 Old Topton Road, Mertztown on Friday, September 5 at 4:00 p.m.—the modern facility features a six-lane distance track, eight-lane sprint track, synthetic turf field, LED lighting and ADA seating funded through bonds with no tax increase. The event will include a ribbon cutting, a performance by the marching band, varsity athletic matches, and a community campaign called Buy a Brick — Leave a Legacy. Berks Weekly

- ➤ Drivers in Berks County will face lane restrictions, closures and delays next week as PennDOT crews perform pothole patching on PA 183, ramp work on PA 737, drainage improvements on Centennial Road and shoulder widening on I-176 — all projects will run between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29, weather permitting — so motorists are advised to allow extra travel time. - ➤ August is Children's Eye Health and Safety Month, a national observance that urges parents to schedule eye exams early to catch vision problems like nearsightedness and lazy eye. - ➤ On Friday night, Justice Hardy rushed for 196 yards and scored three touchdowns as Wyomissing beat Southern Columbia 49-27 — his long runs helped build an early lead.
