- ➤ East Penn Manufacturing in Lyons announced new leadership that will take effect on Sept. 29 with Pete Stanislawczyk as CEO and Christy Weeber as president. Retiring Chris Pruitt will serve as executive chairman — and the new leaders will work to guide the company through changes in the battery market — as they plan a smooth transition. Reading Eagle

- ➤ On July 27, the Reading Theater Project will present In Nature's Studio at the Reading Public Museum Arboretum at 500 Museum Road from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.—audiences will walk along a path to view five-minute theater, music, dance, and puppetry pieces inspired by the Toytopia exhibit. - ➤ Reading has put the plan to build an outdoor ice-skating rink at the Third and Spruce streets rec center on hold after residents reported that construction disrupted the use of the Roberto Clemente Memorial ballfield for baseball and softball games. - ➤ Reading City Council voted six to one on Monday to adopt a resolution calling on the state to legalize recreational marijuana and introduced an ordinance to decriminalize small amounts — a move designed to ease criminal penalties for residents. - ➤ City leaders from Allentown and Reading warned on Tuesday about the dangers of illegal swimming and park misuse at Cedar Beach Park—officials noted that safety risks and costly fines have increased.
