- ➤ Mayor Eddie Moran and city officials celebrated the grand opening of Reading’s first dog park, Caramel and Friends Dog Park, on Monday morning — the park marks a new space for pet owners. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Reading officials, residents and many dogs gathered Monday morning at Schlegel Park as the city opened its first public dog park, Caramel and Friends Dog Park—named in honor of a rescued dog adopted by Mayor Eddie Morán. City leaders held a ribbon-cutting and reminded dog owners to keep licenses and rabies vaccinations current while also announcing plans for an agility course and shaded areas. Berks Weekly

- ➤ A Reading man, 41-year-old Pablo G. Espejo, was killed when his car collided head-on with a dump truck on Route 73 in Ruscombmanor Township Saturday around 1 p.m.—the truck driver, a 29-year-old Reading man, was treated for minor injuries. Reading Eagle
- ➤ A motorcycle and a pickup truck collided Sunday afternoon on Penn Avenue in West Reading when the motorcyclist crossed into the oncoming lane and was fatally injured near Second Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., and police said the crash is under investigation. Reading Eagle

- ➤ Jason Nival was sentenced Monday to state prison for his role in the January 2023 ambush killing of Eric Ferrer near Washington Street, and his two brothers pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in April. Reading Eagle
