  • The 3rd annual Berks Summerfest kicked off today at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading as four local bands played reggae to folk music while kids enjoyed tie dye and face painting stations—vendors and nonprofits like Helping Harvest set up food donation bins.   • Summer events filled Reading on July 12 as Berks Arts and Reading Fightin Phils hosted the annual Berks Summer Fest at FirstEnergy Stadium with concerts, a play area, cornhole games and food donations, while downtown Reading offered its second Color & Art Fest Block Party that featured a noncompetitive Color Run and extra activities along Penn Street.  Reading Eagle

  • On Friday afternoon, state officials said phones buzzed with alerts indicating an intermittent 911 outage and advised residents to dial 610-655-4911 if calls fail.
