  • Downtown Reading hosted its annual Juneteenth parade Friday after a postponement from June 14 due to rain—local dance teams, community groups and churches joined a three-block procession celebrating freedom and the rich contributions of the Black community. The event capped off a weeklong series of educational and cultural gatherings that highlighted local history and unity.  Reading Eagle

  • Tilden Township police are asking for help identifying females involved in a retail theft at Lowe's located at 20 Wilderness Trail on March 15th at about 11:40 a.m.—tips should be reported to Crime Alert or directly to the police at 610-562-9001.  Reading Eagle

CULTURE NEWS

  • Families and train fans joined a ribbon cutting at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg on June 14 when the new Race Street Tower and The Whistle Stop exhibits were opened—teaching about the region's railroad past. The museum will host a Lego train display later in July—offering visitors more ways to explore local history.  Reading Eagle
