- ➤ On Monday morning, over 100 paddlers launched kayaks and canoes from Jim Dietrich Park in Muhlenberg Township for the third day of the Schuylkill River Sojourn—an event celebrating the bicentennial of the Schuylkill Navigation System with a 'Canals and Campfires' theme. - ➤ Berks County District Attorney John Adams said a Tesla in self-driving mode drove off South Hull Street onto railroad tracks in Sinking Spring early Saturday morning—violating the vehicle code since the law does not recognize self-driven vehicles—before a train struck it, and no one was hurt. - ➤ Today, Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing partnered with the Eastern Amputee Golf Association to hold the 12th annual First Swing/Learn to Golf Clinic at Sittler Golf in South Heidelberg Township to teach golf to people with amputations and other disabilities. About 25 current and former patients practiced adaptive techniques — using special straps to hold clubs — as part of an event that showed them they can stay active. Reading Eagle
