On Memorial Day morning in Jim Dietrich Park, people gathered in Muhlenberg Township to honor fallen service members.

The event featured performances by Junior ROTC, a brass band, and Boy Scouts — speakers paid tribute by sharing heartfelt poems and stories.

On Monday, May 26th, several towns across Berks held Memorial Day ceremonies to honor US armed forces who died in service, even though few people attended.

A real black bear was seen on home security cameras Monday morning in the Hamburg area of Tilden Township, where homeowner Brian Hahn—who decorates his house with bear statues—captured the animal strolling along his walkway and nearby road, prompting concern for local pets, children, and livestock.

Berks Catholic won the District 3 Class 3A championship at Penn Medicine Field as pitcher Mikey Fidler threw a one-hit shutout for an 8-0 win over Bermudian Springs on Monday.
