- ➤ Weis Markets donated eight cases of pet food to Animal Rescue League of Berks at its Reading store on Tuesday, May 19 as part of its annual Paws for Pets campaign (including formulas for puppies and adult dogs) to help local shelter animals. Berks Weekly
- ➤ Due to rain, the annual Wyomissing Memorial Day Parade has been rescheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. It will begin at Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center on Woodland Road and end at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park, where the Remembrance Ceremony will take place at the War Memorial. WFMZ-TV
- ➤ Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank released its Long-Range Strategic Plan for 2026-2030, which sets clear steps to boost food service, refine supply chains and strengthen donor ties in Berks and Schuylkill counties. - ➤ Kutztown University’s Rock Ensemble I has been honored as the undergraduate college winner in the Blues/Pop/Rock Group category at the 2026 DownBeat Student Music Awards, marking the 11th student award in a decade.
