- ➤ The West Reading Fire Department celebrated its 125th anniversary on Saturday, May 16 by housing a new 2022 Spartan engine and a 2025 Ford F-250 utility truck (223 Playground Dr). - ➤ The 78th annual Berks County Armed Forces Day Parade honored military service with flag distributions and a junior ROTC honor guard in West Reading and Wyomissing yesterday, May 16. - ➤ At a Tuesday morning event at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Reading, the YMCA of Reading & Berks County gathered community leaders and supporters to raise $110,000 for youth programs and financial assistance.
