  • A moped rider fleeing troopers was arrested on May 9th at 8:30 a.m. on Skyline Drive—near the Pagoda.  Reading Eagle
  • A 61-year-old Alsace Township man was arrested after he allegedly fired five to six shots from a realistic-looking BB gun during a road rage incident with a 55-year-old driver at the Pricetown Road and Hemlock Lane intersection on May 8—police said.  Berks Weekly

  • The City of Reading will illuminate blue at iconic sites—such as the William Penn Memorial Fire Tower, City Hall, 5th and Penn, and the Penn Street Bridge—starting May 11 to honor National Police Week and the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.   • Cumru Township officials appointed a new zoning hearing board after five members resigned amid alleged retaliatory actions—four former members said they left due to pressure from the board of commissioners.  Reading Eagle
