CULTURE NEWS

  • Taco Fest brought Latin food and music to Penn Street last Saturday, May 2, 2026. The third annual event featured food trucks, local bands, cultural dance performances, free dance lessons, and family-friendly fun across two downtown blocks.  Reading Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT has planned road projects across local townships today and later this week; Route 724 in Robeson Township is closed until October for a bridge replacement, Route 61 in Hamburg will have overnight work, and pothole and bridge repairs are set on other routes in Reading (follow detours posted).  Reading Eagle

HEALTH NEWS

  • Reading Hospital hosted its Grow & Glow women’s health event at Lauer’s Park Elementary School on Saturday, May 2, where families received free screenings, self-care activities, and health guidance. The four-hour event featured vendor tables, crafts, a photo booth, and a flower bar to celebrate spring and promote wellness ahead of Mother’s Day.  Reading Eagle
