- ➤ Mary Ellen Batman of Reading Hospital celebrated reaching 10,000 volunteer service hours. She began in the 1990s as a summer teacher volunteer and now escorts patients through the hospital (she was surprised with flowers and Tower Health swag) as she receives a commemorative pin. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ Berks Ballet Theatre will present Swan Lake on Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. at Miller Center for the Arts in Reading as part of its 50th anniversary season. The show features Act II and Act III (its first local presentation) that highlight iconic white and dramatic black swan moments. Berks Weekly
