- ➤ Bernard Scherr, a 56-year-old from Lake Wynonah, was arraigned Wednesday on charges including homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle and reckless driving after his illegal passing on Jan. 3 in Penn Township caused a head-on crash that killed a 2-year-old girl and injured her mother — his bail was set at $50,000 unsecured — and he remains free awaiting a preliminary hearing.
