CRIME NEWS

  • The Berks County sheriff’s office is seeking two fugitives—Mario Villalobos Berrios, a 34-year-old man measuring 6 ft 2 in and 200 pounds wanted for burglary and violating a protection order after breaking into a woman's apartment on March 1—and Michael Fos, a 52-year-old man measuring 6 ft and 220 pounds wanted for strangulation and DUI after assaulting a patron near a bar on Jan. 14—and urges anyone with information to call 610-478-6390.  Reading Eagle

CULTURE NEWS

  • Musician Aubrey Logan (trombonist and singer) and Ilya Serov (trumpeter and singer) will perform with the Reading Pops Orchestra, led by Willis Rapp, at 3 p.m. on April 6th at Miller Center for the Arts during the Berks Jazz Fest.  Reading Eagle
  • Reading Public Museum announced it has been reaccredited by the American Alliance of Museums — a national recognition that confirms its commitment to excellence and accountability — and it has maintained accredited status since 1982. The museum on its 25-acre campus continues to serve local residents and visitors with art, science and history exhibits.  Reading Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT scheduled several road projects in Berks that affect key routes in Hamburg, Ontelaunee Township, Bern Township and District Township. Work includes overnight construction on I-78 between Exit 29 & Route 30 starting Tuesday, sweeping on Route 61 and paving on Route 183 today through Friday along with brush cutting on other sections.  Reading Eagle

  • Berks County real estate transactions for March 30 showed property transfers with listed sale prices and other deals with no money exchanged.
