- ➤ Bill Shuman, a longtime telecommunicator at Berks County 911, saved a firefighter's life during a house fire on Mohns Hill Road when he repeated a Mayday call in bitter cold conditions. The Red Cross is honoring him for his lifesaving listening skills. WFMZ-TV

- ➤ The Berks County Workforce Development Board received a $200,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry to expand employment and training services for veterans and their spouses at PA CareerLink Berks County. Local officials said the funding enhanced outreach and community partnerships to support sustainable careers. Reading Eagle
- ➤ Reading City Council discussed youth violence prevention during Monday night’s Committee of the Whole meeting after officials noted that a $50K ARPA-funded youth website had not been updated due to lack of input from youth organizations (20 groups).
