  • The Penn State Master Gardeners of Berks County hosted the second annual Community Seed Swap on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Berks Nature in Reading (sharing free seeds and seed tips with local gardeners).  Reading Eagle
  • The Boyertown American Legion and Sgt. Mark Malizzi received national recognition from the Soldiers of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Platoon for installing the Honor Bear sculpture at their Display of Honor on Walker Drive—honoring fallen warriors 24/7 as part of the Bear Fever public art project.  Reading Eagle

  • The 21st annual Patty Pagoda Groundhog Day observance will be held tomorrow at 7 a.m. on the 800 block of Penn Street, moving from its usual Pagoda parking lot due to poor road conditions and frigid weather forecasts.   • Residents competed in Shillington’s Jollof Rice Fest on Saturday as locals showcased homemade West African rice dishes and a $250 prize was awarded for first place, celebrating cultural diversity and community spirit.  WFMZ-TV
  • The Reading Public Museum is hosting the Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks exhibit featuring iconic skyscrapers built from thousands of bricks through May 17 — the interactive display invites families to build models and practice engineering skills after a Saturday preview.  Reading Eagle

  • No. 1 Boyertown wrestlers claimed the District 1-3A title on Saturday by defeating No. 2 Council Rock South 33-31 at Upper Dublin High — the Bears will meet Wilson on Tuesday at home to vie for a quarterfinal spot.  Reading Eagle
