The Reading Theater Project announced a new season themed Embracing Our Humanity that opens with the play Proud by Judd Lear Silverman at the WCR Center for the Arts from Nov. 7 to 9 and from Nov. 14 to 16 while hosting a 5-Minute Fringe Festival from Feb. 27 through March 16 and a play reading series with local playwright submissions due by Sept. 30 and auditions on Saturday at 3 p.m. In related arts news, Reading Civic Theatre will perform A Cabaret of Favorites on Sept. 12, 13, and 14, Susan L. Pena will hold a book reading and signing event at Simply Bold Cafe on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., and the Reading Public Museum has acquired a rare painting by Tulie Speight.

The Muhls are led by coach Rob Flowers and star running back Cameron Small as they plan to improve their passing game—hoping to build on last season's progress while hosting eight games. The team will face tough challenges in 2025 after a rocky start last year, and they are counting on strong community support.

Kids in Reading got free school supplies at Hope Rescue Mission's student event Saturday — over 24 groups donated backpacks, clothes, and snacks to help families in need.
